Author Judy Blume

When I became a teacher at Parkview School 24 years ago I was a 4th grade teacher. One of the books that I enjoyed reading to my class was Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing. Have you read any Judy Blume books? Do you have a favorite?

Click on the title- Author Judy Blume to find out about our author and some of the books that she has written.

  1. I have read many Judy Blume books. Everything from The Pain and the Great One, as a student, to Summer Sisters, as an adult. She is a very talented writer. It is hard for me to pick a favorite.

  2. I didn't read a Judy Blume Book. My mom did. She read Are You There God, It's Me Marget. She read a part aloud to me and enjoyed listening to her.

I use to enjoy reading to my kids when they were in 3rd grade too! we use to read Charlotte's Web together. They liked the book because their grandmother's name is Charlotte so they thought it was funny.

I am so glad Freckle Juice will be your first Judy Blume book. I think you will love the way Judy writes. She uses lots of humor.

  11. In the book Freckle Juice, Andrew thinks Nicky's Freckles are really cool and wants some of his own. You won't believe what he is willing to do! I remember in 5th grade wanting braces like my friends. I even tried to convince my mom to get then although the dentist said "no braces." When my sister got braces I was so frustrated until I saw how painful they were for her! After that I was glad I didn't need them! Was there ever a time you wanted to change something about yourself? Maybe you wanted glasses or your hair was too short or not the right color!

  12. I remember a time when I was younger I wanted to be left handed because a friend of mine was. As luck would have it, I broke my thumb on my right hand and had to do everything with my left hand. It was very frustrating and I could not wait to go back to my normal way. I guess it is like they always say, the grass is greener on the other side (until you get there:)

  13. Mrs.Miller I know how that feels. My cousin A got braces. Now when we have dinner she has to be the pick one. I can't remember ever wanted to change anything about myself!

  14. I wish I could change some of my friends. Some of them are mean to me. I like to have friends that are nice to me. My nice friends play with me when I am bored and they treat me right.
